SURFIT Landmark Event in Trento – March 2025
On 14 March 2025, the SURFIT consortium gathered in Trento for its Landmark Event, hosted at the Department of Sociology and Social Research (via Verdi 26).
The day opened with morning coffee and a welcome, followed by the WP2 City Panel on food habits, which sparked discussion and insights. WP5 then presented dissemination materials, including the website, webinars, and the docufilm on food labs. After a short break, the morning wrapped up with WP2’s evaluation of the meeting and finalisation of action points, followed by WP1 outlining next steps and deadlines. The morning closed with lunch.
In the afternoon, participants joined BIO.LOGICA 2025, the city’s festival on agriculture, sustainability, food policies, and healthy lifestyles, held at Palazzo Geremia under the theme “Feed the city, cultivate the community.” The convention featured the food policy experience of Paris with Vice-Mayor Audrey Pulvar, a discussion on the value of food policies with local food chain stakeholders, and a session on local actions for global challenges highlighting the impact of European projects on the territory — including SURFIT, FOODSCAPES, BIOVALUE, SALINA, and Food Democracy. The day ended with a Zero Waste dinner by Trentino Solidale (a SURFIT partner) at Villa Sant’Ignazio.
The festival continued on Saturday 15 March at MUSE with a morning convention on the same theme.
